Week 2 - Question #3

The code used by Ben Franklin was possible because it used a book the almost every on the colonies was able to access. If you were to write a similar code today, which book would you choose (remember that it should be a book almost everyone has access to or could access). In your comment please list the book you would use and why you choose that book. Would you use a certain book if you were only trying to include a certain group of people?

I would use something that is in every household and the only thing that I can think of is the dictionary. I would choose this because it would be easy to say it because you would only need two numbers. One for the page number and one for the word on that page. But the only thing about that is there are so many different types of dictionaries that everyone would get a different message from the code.

If i were to use another book as a code then i would use the dictionary because you can get in anywhere, like from the public library , etc. The dictionary is also easy to use because you can find any word you want to find in the dictionary.

If I would have to pick a book that ever house-hold had i would pick a webster dictonary because it is well known. If i were only trying to include a certain group of people it would be The Cronicles of Narnia Because all of my friends have it to it would be easy to use.

I would use a dictionary cause that is the only book that I can think of that almost everyone has. And if you didn't have it you could get it from a library or a school class room. Leslie Wright hour 6

I would use the Bible because it is in many households and you can use page numbers and numbers from the letters. Although many religions publish many different versions it may be tough for an exact code. So I would use the Bible.

I would use the Bible. Most people have it in their household. So there fore i could use a code for the page number and words so therefore everyone would know what the code may be. But there are many religions that have many different versions of the Bible. So therefore this may not work.

i think i agree with clayton i would choose the bible. Many people have bibles and if they dont they can borrow one or try to get one from a library. I would still use the bible if i was trying to include a certian group of people.
